Dr. Harris has conducted research studies in  financial (banking), travel and leisure, personal and healthcare, pharmaceuticals and retirement communities. He has served as a Senior Analyst for the Conference Board, as a research consultant to the American Iron & Steel Institute , the Kellogg Company, the Singer Company and the Analysis & Programming Corporation of Greenwich, Connecticut. In the 1980s he served as Executive Vice President at Marketing Research Associates and as ad hoc research director for the Lee Eliott, Bob Launey and Hansen advertising agencies.

From January 2001 to December 2004 the company published the BOOMER REPORT, a quarterly survey of information on trends – and the change in buying behavior and attitudes among the mature population, ages 40 to 50 plus.

In 2007 he joined with NSON Opinion Research to conduct a quarterly omnibus survey. The research will explore perceptions and attitudes among Seniors who have reached traditional retirement age and are transitioning into their sunset years and those in their fifties and sixties who have come of age during the years that followed World War II. His prior experience includes working as a Research Analyst at the Corporstion for Public Broadcasting, as a Financial Analyst at Doubleday & Company, Research Analyst at Western Electric and Research Director at Hansen Advertising. (Hansen specialized in Bank Marketing and Advertising).

His academic background was as a University Professor at Adelphi College, where he established the graduate school statistics curriculum. He has also taught courses in Marketing and Marketing Research at Pace University and Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Consultant to Companies and Organizations: Dr. Harris  currently consults with individual companies and organizations as to how they can more effectively market their products and services to the Senior, Mature and Boomer generations.

Honorary positions: For many years he was the Vice Chairman of the Savings Institutions Marketing Society of America. Dr. Harris also served as President of the Product Development Management Association. "Serving People With A Professional Interest In New Products."
